Dillinger Four formed in Minneapolis in 1994 and have had the same four members since 1996: Patrick Costello on bass, Erik Funk and Bill Morrisette on guitars, all three sharing vocals, and Lane Pederson on drums.
Their albums Midwestern Songs of the Americas (1998), Versus God (2000), Situationist Comedy (2002) and Civil War (2008), released on Hopeless, No Idea and Fat Wreck Chords, made them one of the most loved bands in melodic punk. Erik Funk also ran the Triple Rock Social Club, a Minneapolis punk institution, from 1998 to 2017, and the band has a star on the famous First Avenue mural.
More from Dillinger Four: Fat Wreck Chords

After years of careful observation, we have decided to honor the collective known as Dillinger Four with the prestigious title of “Honorary Canadians.”
They have demonstrated a genuine commitment to poutine consumption, second-degree sarcasm, and the ability to go through life without the use of guns, almighty Gods, or Kid Rock.
We welcome you with open arms. Please don’t steal our electricity now.
We had some kind of unwritten rule when booking this festival: we wanted to book only Mexican, Canadian, or Latin-culture bands.
But now that we have scientifically proven that the individuals known as Dillinger Four are as Canadian as the rapper and the substance known as Snow, they are officially eligible to be booked at Pouzza del Carmen.
Yes, Dillinger Four on the beach. We did that. De nada.
Pouzza del Carmen · March 12–14, 2027 · Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Punk, ska and cumbia on the beach, on rooftops and in the clubs.
